ECT* Conference room

The workshop “Achievements and perspectives in the low-energy QCD with strangeness”, will focus on the most recent achievements in the strangeness physics, as described by the low-energy QCD, both in theory and experiment, obtained in the last three years, with special focus to the results triggered by HadronPhysics3 FP7 EU programme. Future opportunities within HORIZON2020 in this frontier field of research will be discussed too.
The strangeness physics sector is currently evolving very fast, with experimental results coming from many recent experiments (HADES, FOPI, SIDDHARTA, AMADEUS, J-PARC); other experiments are planned (at DANE, GSI, FAIR or JPARC) or are in the proposal phase. On the theoretical side, refined calculations and methods (as chiral models,8 lattice calculations, few- and many body techniques) are producing extremely accurate results and deeper understanding of the involved physics, with implications going from particle and nuclear physics to astrophysics.
The workshop will gather about 40 of the world-leading experimental and theoretical experts in the field, to enable a thorough exchange of information, to discuss the existent results and to strongly contribute to the future of the field. Young scientists and students participation is strongly encouraged.
